I like this link, I like the connection between the Essenes and the Enoch Books. Mary and Joseph , Moses, were all Essenes, like an elite secluded knowledgable group of people that studied their religion tediously, they had knowledge that was not shared with others, nor was it abused, they were the ones that knew of the up coming birth of the baby Jesus prior to the event, they had abilities that were unique. The fact that they studied the Books of Enoch tells me that the books indeed should be a part of the bible, even though there is argument over this still today. Christianity was born from the Essenes beliefs. www.sherryshriner.com/books/secrets_of_enoch.htm

Thank you Trinity for sharing that with us. I will surely check it out. I myself, became an ordained minister before realizeing that I am truly Gnostic. When I met Christ (I mean Really) it kinda blew me away, but the emotions wheren't there.
I hate it when people call themselves saved and expect some kind of honer or revrence simply because they decided (by themselves) to be Christian.
Look at the gospels themselves, when Jesus heald that blind guy, it was on the sabbath day, When he heald the quadralaplegec (don't ask me to spell) he said "take up thy bed and walk", again on the sabbath day. Can you not see he was intentionally breaking the Sabbath?
He did this to show people that he was Loard. Jesus knew the scripture very well, and he fullfilled all the prophecies (613 of them in the old testement!!!).
What gets me is the one question. Do prophecies fill themselves by thier very nature, or do we pick up on what is to come???

Red, such a good question...I have been studying the scriptures for about one year now, so I don't know that much, but I make it my business to learn/decipher it all. I am most interested in the history involved with Christianity, such as the Essenes, the other post that I posted here, about Enoch being Cheops who went to the Pharoahs, and built pyramids by instructions he was given directly from God. There are many holes left that we can explore like this.
Propehcy being fulfilled is Kinda undeniable isn't it? Now whether we can change, or alter the prophecy that is ahead of us would depend on whether or not you really give the Torah codes any credit?
I have read quite alot, pros and cons of the codes. I am still undecided but err on the side of positiveness that they are indeed the secret bible codes now unlocked, and if that is so, the Torah codes read all the way through " will you change this". That would give us the idea that we have been given the prophecy as a warning of what will come should nothing be changed.
It leaves the topic open for more discussion too, there are alot of areas of the bible, that are shoved aside by religion becuase they want to shut out truth. The book of Jude is rarely spoken of in some Christian Churches. I don't go to Church myself right now, I don't believe that I need to go in order to have faith in Christ.
Some people argue over the day of Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday? Why is there such confusion about this?

Yeah, Genesis 1:31 says behold it was the sixth day (or something real close to that). That makes the Sabbath fall on Saturday, but Christ (as Jesus) was clearly crusified on Sunday (just read the bible and duduce it). But whether Saturday (when I choose to observe Sabbath) or Sunday the real issue is one of the spiritual interpretation (the thinking for yourself).
You may have noticed that I didn't challange you on a questionable interpretation of revelation earlier; You stated let he who has intellegence recon the number of the beast (or something like that). I let it go because I didn't want to look through a thousand different copies of the same book for a tiny typo. The KJV says let he who has Wisdom (operative word) ..... Not intellegence (again in KJV) recon the number for it is sixhundred three score and six (again I'm quoting from memory).
In the end it is all muddeled. Just go with you heart.

Yes....so metaphorical, all of it...to me anyway. I did use another version that uses the word " intelligent" in reference to that part of the scripture, but that's really irrelevant. I feel like it's my task to decipher every area of the bible...part of me feels that to not do this would be ignorance on my part to the words of God specifically written for us to know...another part of me says....what does it really matter?
Being Buddhist was easier LOL...but I had too many questions to be Buddhist rofl.
